Dear family, friends, and community

I first of all would like to say thank you for all your kindness love and support during this time of hardship in my life. It has made a difference and it has meant the world to me.

As promised I said I would answer some of the questions and give you an update and as of September 11th I finally received information from the office that is worthy of an update.

Before I go into the facts I would like to tell you how I've felt lately... I've dealt with pain and loss before but nothing to this extreme. Losing a family member or pet to old age, sickness or an accident my grandpa actually just passed on September 10th due to old age. But this, this just hits differently. A public servant who has been given training in order to protect and serve which gives him the power to do more than the average citizen is the one responsible. I would understand a drunk driver causing this... But an officer in full control of his motor functions with his advance training to me, it makes no sense. She was robbed of 15+ years of life. I was robbed of the relationship I had cultivated with her we had been to 46 states together. Thousands of hours of training, thousands upon thousands of hours more of just spending time with her. The plans to breed her and share her beauty with the world. Of keeping one of her puppies so I would always have a piece of her to remind me of her. And now I'm left with nothing but ashes due to the deputies actions. I wish I could tell you that I have it all together i act like it most of the time... but I'm broken inside about this. And what sheriff Felice said in his post hurt and made me even more upset. Saying that what I went through caused me to percieve things differently is like a slap in the face. I watched the animal that I had poured all my love and care into over the last two and a half years hit and run over feet in front of me by one of your deputies. I know exactly what I saw, and what I went through is so throughly ingrained in my memory that I'll never forget it.

First of all I have spoken with the sergeant from state patrol who took both mine and my coworkers statement. The only investigation he was sent there to do was to get statements and do a collision report. And despite statements not matching up he called it at that.

Secondly, deputy Figarelle admits to going around 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. However, i do not trust his statement at all and think from my professional opinion as a professional driver for the past 7 years that he was going faster. As he also claims to have seen the dog and attempted to swerve out of the way. In the sheriff's statement his story changed from swerving to being unable to stop in time striking the dog. Neither myself or the other witness saw this happen. We witnessed him accelerating towards her down the middle of the road, striking and running her over, then pulling off to the far side of the road.

I would also like to tell you all that Stilletta did not run in front of his vehicle. She was walking across the street and got scared from hearing the engine roar from the officers acceleration. My coworker was in a high vis lvl 2 osha approved shirt standing on the side of the road, and was attempting to slow the officer down.

Two different stories from a man who is held to a code of ethics that works for us... to protect and serve, Integrity and honesty.

I have also received the video recording of the body cam. I am unsure if deputy Figarelle failed to turn on his body cam when he stepped out of the vehicle to "investigate", or if they didn't want to send me the first 7-10 minutes of him taking pictures while on the phone. Therefore it is only the interaction of me asking him what had to be the hardest words of my life and him saying "no, I can't do that. Can you go to the vet?" I was also sent a brief interaction of him with a coworker who saw and witnessed nothing and state patrol. When I get the opportunity for those of you brave enough and who want to watch the aftermath of the tragedy I will be posting it on the website i made for her.

The first thing I asked for was dashcam. These vehicles apparently do not have dashcams. So part of what I'm attempting to do through this tragedy will be advocating for dashcams in all government vehicles so they can always be held responsible whether it be a child, person, vehicle, or animal that they injure/kill.

The other cameras that are on the sheriff's station that should've caught some of his driving on camera has not been released as well. The office stating that it didn't get anything on camera.

Deputy Sherriff Brandon Figarelle hit her back end with the drivers side bumper.

Then proceeded to run her over, no breaks, no swerve.

The website i have made is justice4stilletta.com and this is where I ask for your

help. The attorney fees are going to be 2750$ to start, going all the way up to 17,000$+ the website is another 600$ I have currently paid for the website but need help so I can pay for the attorney. Up in the corner of the website there is menu button where you can click donate. All funds will be going towards the pursuit of truth and justice. Any extra at the end will be used to either help existing dog parks or to help animals.

I know it's a saying from Spiderman... "with great power comes great responsiblity" this deputy has been given power. He has been given training that grants him more privileges than other citizens. And this deputy at least in my book and on this day failed at every single duty he was supposed to perform.

I've heard you don't know what flavor the tea is until you put it in hot water... this officer was put in hot water that day and his true character came out. No care, no remorse, no empathy, not knowing state laws, and from his statement ,compared to what my coworker and myself went through, 2 different stories with his changing.

Please share this post and help me seek justice and truth in this time. Www.justice4stilletta.com

Again I thank you all for your love, care and support!

Sincerely, Stilletta's dog dad Devin Arney

(Highlighted in the photos are the inaccuracies in the reports/posts. The vehicle damage was on the left hand side not the right. He was in the middle of the road when he hit her)
